Mini-mesh grating is specified where the standard 38 mm opening is too large for the work below or the footwear used. Choose standard mesh (38 x 38 mm) for general industrial walkways: it maximises drainage, open area and economy. Choose mini-mesh whenever small items, tools, heels or food must not fall through, or when footwear with thin heels is used on the platform. Be aware that mini-mesh has slightly less open area and is a little heavier per square metre, and that very small openings can trap debris, so it suits clean or wash-down environments rather than heavily soiled ones. Pair with the right thickness (25mm light duty, 38mm standard) and polyester resin unless severe acids call for vinyl ester.
