Solar PV & Rooftop Solar · Lightweight UV-Stable Access Walkways

Solar FRP Grating

Lightweight FRP walkways for solar farms, rooftop PV arrays and service routes — UV-stable, corrosion-proof, and gentle on roof membranes and mounting structures, with anti-slip footing for panel cleaning and inspection crews.

ISO 9001 Certified
Direct FRP Grating Master Factory
Exported to 45+ Countries

Solar FRP grating provides the maintenance walkways that large PV plants need: a safe, dedicated path across arrays so cleaning and inspection crews do not walk on and damage panels. Because FRP is roughly one quarter the weight of steel, rooftop and carport installations add almost no dead load to the structure, and panels can be carried and cut by hand. The resin system includes UV inhibitors for long outdoor exposure, and the non-conductive material is safe near DC cabling and inverters. Grit-top surfaces give wet-foot security after cleaning cycles. Walkways typically use 25–38 mm molded panels on steel or aluminum purlins, fixed with non-magnetic stainless clips so they do not introduce galvanic corrosion at aluminum mounting points.

Applications

Field Applications and Project Use

Common solar PV applications:

Rooftop PV maintenance walkways: Ultra-lightweight 25–30 mm paths over roof membranes and ballasted arrays, protecting waterproofing from foot traffic and cleaning equipment.

Utility-scale solar farm access: Dedicated 38 mm grit-top walkways between panel rows for cleaning crews, string inverters and junction-box inspection.

Solar carports and canopies: Non-conductive, low-dead-load flooring under and around carport structures, safe near EV charging and DC cabling.

Tracking-system service routes: Walkways alongside single-axis trackers for lubrication, sensor checks and hydraulic maintenance access.

Inverter and transformer pads: Non-conductive grating around central inverters, transformers and combiner boxes.

FAQ

Solar FRP Grating FAQ

Why use FRP walkways on solar farms instead of walking on panels?
Dedicated walkways protect panels from foot traffic, cleaning-equipment wear and micro-cracks. Crews use the path instead of stepping on modules, extending panel life and keeping warranties valid.
Is FRP grating light enough for rooftop solar?
Yes. FRP weighs about one quarter of steel, so 25–30 mm rooftop walkways add minimal dead load to roof membranes, ballast and mounting structures, and can be carried by hand.
Is FRP UV-resistant for long outdoor exposure?
Yes. Solar-grade panels use UV-stabilized isophthalic polyester resin, and grit-top surfaces keep footing secure after wet cleaning cycles.
Is FRP safe near DC cabling and inverters?
Yes. FRP is non-conductive and non-magnetic, and stainless (non-magnetic) clips avoid galvanic corrosion at aluminum mounting points.
