Power Generation & Substations · Flame-Retardant, Non-Conductive Grating

Power Plant FRP Grating

FRP grating for power stations, substations and turbine halls — flame-retardant polyester or phenolic resin, non-conductive and corrosion-proof against cooling water, flue-gas by-products and chemicals, with anti-slip footing on platforms and cable trenches.

ISO 9001 Certified
Direct FRP Grating Master Factory
Exported to 45+ Countries

Power plant FRP grating is specified wherever electrical safety, fire performance and corrosion resistance overlap. In thermal stations it handles cooling-tower walkways, cable trenches, ash-handling areas and flue-gas desulphurization zones; in substations it provides non-conductive access around switchgear and transformers; in hydro plants it resists constant moisture. Standard isophthalic polyester meets typical flame-smoke requirements; phenolic resin is available for higher fire-performance areas. Because FRP does not conduct electricity, it reduces touch and step potential risks around live equipment, and it will not rust into cable trench covers or platform framing. Panels are cut to drawing, drilled for supports and fixed with stainless steel clips — no hot work in energized areas.

Applications

Field Applications and Project Use

Common power-plant and substation applications:

Cooling-tower and basin walkways: Moisture- and chemical-resistant molded grating around cooling towers, basins and water-treatment units — no rust staining on concrete.

Cable trench covers and cable-gallery flooring: Non-conductive, covered or mesh covers over cable trenches and galleries, protecting cables while allowing ventilation and inspection.

Substation switchgear and transformer access: Non-conductive walkways around live switchgear, busbars and transformers to reduce touch and step potential.

Turbine hall and boiler platforms: Pultruded I-bar flooring for long spans in turbine halls and boiler house platforms, anti-slip underfoot.

Ash handling and FGD zones: Corrosion-proof grating in ash-handling and flue-gas desulphurization areas exposed to wet ash and acidic condensates.

FAQ

Power Plant FRP Grating FAQ

Is FRP grating suitable near live electrical equipment?
Yes. FRP is non-conductive, which reduces touch and step potential risks around switchgear, busbars and transformers. It is widely used for substation walkways and cable trench covers.
What fire rating does power-plant FRP grating have?
Standard isophthalic polyester meets typical ASTM E-84 Class B flame-smoke requirements. Phenolic resin is available for areas requiring higher fire performance (Class A).
Does FRP grating resist cooling water and flue-gas chemicals?
Yes. Vinyl ester or isophthalic panels resist cooling-tower water, wet ash and acidic condensates in FGD zones without the rust and coating failures of steel.
Can cable trench covers be supplied solid/covered?
Yes. Covered or partially covered solid panels are used where cables, tools or operators must not fall through, while mesh panels are used for ventilated walkways.
