Mining & Mineral Processing · Heavy-Duty, Corrosion-Proof Footing

Mining FRP Grating

Heavy-duty fiberglass grating for mine sites, concentrator plants and ore-handling areas — corrosion-proof against acids, slurries and dust, anti-slip underfoot, and light enough for safe two-person handling at remote sites.

ISO 9001 Certified
Direct FRP Grating Master Factory
Exported to 45+ Countries

Mining FRP grating replaces steel and timber flooring in environments where both fail fast: acid mine drainage, wet ore, abrasive slurries and salt-laden process water eat through painted steel within a few years, while timber rots and becomes slippery. FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) grating is inert to these conditions, non-conductive and non-sparking, and carries pedestrian plus light maintenance loads on walkways, platforms and stair treads. Vinyl ester resin is specified for leaching and acidic service; isophthalic polyester for general dry and wet mining areas. Grit-top or concave surfaces keep foot traffic safe under wet, dusty and muddy conditions. Panels are cut to your layout with pre-drilled penetrations and fixed with stainless steel clips — no welding, no hot work on site.

Applications

Field Applications and Project Use

Common mining and mineral-processing applications:

Mine access walkways and stair treads: Grit-top 38 mm vinyl ester panels on access ramps and tower stairways — anti-slip in wet, muddy service and immune to acid drainage.

Concentrator / processing platforms: Corrosion-proof grating around mills, screens and flotation cells where process water and reagents are aggressive.

Ore loading and conveyor galleries: Non-sparking, non-conductive flooring along transfer points and conveyor walkways.

Heap leach and acid areas: Vinyl ester grating over leach pads, piping galleries and pump stations exposed to sulfuric acid and ore slurries.

Tailings and slurry pump stations: Walkways and covers around thickeners, tailings lines and pump rooms — no rust staining, low maintenance shutdowns.

FAQ

Mining FRP Grating FAQ

Why use FRP grating instead of steel in mining?
Steel rusts quickly in acid mine drainage and wet ore conditions and needs constant repainting. FRP grating is inert to acids and slurries, non-conductive and non-sparking, and needs no coating or painting over a 20+ year service life.
Which resin is best for leaching and acid areas?
Vinyl ester resin is recommended for heap leach, sulfuric acid and aggressive reagent service. Use isophthalic polyester for general dry and wet mining walkways where acid exposure is limited.
Is FRP grating safe underfoot when wet and muddy?
Yes. Grit-top or concave-surface panels are the standard choice for mining walkways and stair treads, maintaining slip resistance in wet, dusty and muddy conditions.
How heavy are the panels to handle on site?
FRP grating is roughly one quarter the weight of equivalent steel grating, so panels can be manhandled at remote mine sites without lifting equipment. They are cut on site and fixed with stainless steel clips.
