Food & Beverage FRP Grating

Food & beverage FRP grating gives processing plants a non-porous, easy-clean, anti-slip floor and walkway that survives caustic washdown, brine, steam and wet production areas without the rust and harbouring bacteria of steel.

ISO 9001 Certified
Direct FRP Grating Master Factory
Exported to 45+ Countries

Food-grade FRP grating is used on processing-room floors, drain covers, mezzanine walkways, platform stairs and cable trench covers in dairy, brewery, meat, seafood, beverage and prepared-food plants. Stainless steel floors are expensive and slippery; galvanized steel corrodes under daily caustic and acid washdown; wood absorbs moisture and harbour bacteria. FRP panels are non-porous, do not support bacterial growth, rinse clean and resist the cleaning chemicals used in the food industry.

Panels are specified with a grit-top or covered surface where wet, oily or greasy foot traffic must stay safe, and in mini-mesh 12×12 mm where tools or small product must not fall through. Isophthalic polyester is the standard system for washdown areas; vinyl ester is selected for dairy CIP and aggressive brine or chemical exposure. Panels are cut and fabricated to the plant drawing with rounded edges and smooth transitions to avoid product traps, and fixed with stainless clips — no open welding spatter in the food zone.

For caustic and acidic washdown and dairy CIP cycles, vinyl ester gives the best chemical resistance. Surfaces are rinsed clean with the standard sanitation hose — no special cleaning agents required.

Applications

Applications and Project Experience

Processing-room floors and drains: grit-top 30–38 mm panels over floor trenches and drainage channels, anti-slip under wet production and washdown.

Beverage and dairy lines: covered or mini-mesh panels around fillers and pasteurisers where spills, steam and CIP splash are continuous.

Seafood and meat areas: corrosion-proof panels over brine rooms and cutting lines, immune to salt and blood-and-fat washdown.

Mezzanine walkways and platform stairs: light, two-person-handled panels on raised walkways and stair treads, see stair tread grating.

FAQ

Food & Beverage FRP Grating FAQ

Is FRP grating suitable for food processing?
Yes. Non-porous FRP panels do not harbour bacteria, rinse clean and resist caustic, acid and brine washdown. They are widely used in dairy, brewery, meat, seafood and beverage plants. Confirm your cleaning chemistry with us.
Can food-grade FRP grating be hosed down?
Yes. Panels withstand the standard high-pressure sanitation hose and CIP splash. Grit-top and covered surfaces drain fast and dry without pooling. Avoid exposing panels to open flame or direct steam at temperatures beyond the resin rating.
Which surface is best for wet food areas?
Grit-top (quartz aggregate) is the standard anti-slip choice for wet, oily and greasy processing floors. Use covered solid panels where product or tools must not fall through, and mini-mesh 12×12 for small openings.
How is food-area grating fixed?
Use stainless steel (SS304 or SS316) clips or bolts — no welding in the food zone, which would leave spatter and corrosion traps. Edges are deburred and transitions smoothed to avoid product catch points.
