What Is FRP Grating?
FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) grating — also known as fiberglass grating, fibreglass grating or GRP grating — is a lightweight, high-strength composite flooring panel made from glass fiber reinforcement and corrosion-resistant thermoset resin. It is the most widely used term across North America, and the standard solution for industrial walkways, platforms and access flooring.
FRP grating combines the strength of glass fiber with the corrosion resistance of resin, giving you a flooring, walkway and platform solution that will not rust, rot or corrode — even in aggressive chemical, marine and wastewater environments. Unlike steel, FRP grating is non-conductive, low-maintenance and weighs only about one-quarter of equivalent steel panels, making it dramatically easier to handle and install.
FRP vs GRP vs Fiberglass: They are the same material. FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) is the term most used in the US and global industrial markets; GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) is common in the UK and Commonwealth; fiberglass grating is the plain-English name. Montage- & Auswahlleitfaden
Schritt 1: Anwendung festlegen. Laufstege, Plattformen, Kanalabdeckungen, Treppenstufen und maritime Stege erfordern jeweils andere Plattendicken und Oberflächen. Für nasse oder ölige Umgebungen wird eine rutschfeste Splitbelag-Oberfläche empfohlen; für leichte Laufstege genügt eine glatte Oberfläche.
Schritt 2: Masche und Dicke wählen. 25 mm Dicke eignet sich für Fußgänger-Laufstege; 38–50 mm für schwer belastete Fahrzeug- oder großspannige Anwendungen. 38×38 mm Masche ist Standard; 19×19 mm für Kleinteilerückhaltung oder Absturzsicherung.
Schritt 3: Das passende Harz wählen. Isophthalsäure-Harz für den allgemeinen Industrieeinsatz; Vinylester für Chemieanlagen und Offshore; Phenolharz für brandgeschützte Bereiche.

Für Außen-Laufstege, Treppenstufen und nasse Bereiche wird eine Splitbelag-Oberfläche (rutschfest) empfohlen. UV-stabilisiertes Harz verhindert das Ausbleichen bei direkter Sonneneinstrahlung.
Wie lange hält ein FRP-Rost?
Die typische Lebensdauer in industrieller Umgebung beträgt über 20 Jahre – ohne Streichen oder Wartung. Fertigung nach ISO 9001 steht für gleichbleibende Qualität.
